The postman just delivered a magical black box with «Tomorrowland» written in gold on the top. I opened it to find a beautifully unique music box. Instead of a ballerina, as one might normally expect, two little acrobats flipped around a pole that fit nicely with the intricately designed throwback to early 1900s circus acts. With a big smile, I also found my wristband – which would give me access to the music festival.
A few days later, the time had come to wear it. I entered the festival with a group of friends – it was the first time here for them. It was funny to see Tomorrowland through their eyes because they were amazed by everything. One of the things that makes Tomorrowland so incredible is that it is not only a music festival, but another world where everything is magical and different and where all visitors are proud to show where they come from by wearing the flag of their country, but most of all proud to be one with every other person at the festival – a unique nation within the festival grounds. Big water lilies on lakes spitting water or fire, 16 stages offering a beautiful and original decor, artists, and an amazingly friendly atmosphere are just some of the elements that make you forget time and reality for a moment. With 16 stages there are so many different music styles. I mostly went to Trance, Techno, Deep and tech house – and you can listen to some of my favorite moments on the new spotify playlist I created.
The mainstage offered mostly mainstream music with big dj names like David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Oliver Heldens,… The theme of this year was the circus called “Amicorum Spectaculum” and this mainstage represented a huge theater, with carousels, balancing acts, clowns and acrobats. This is also where, at the end of the day, a big fireworks show illuminates the crowd.
I met so many people from all over the world, sharing some moments, some vibes, some dance moves, that all made this experience unforgettable.
I must say, what I appreciate most is that,, even though Tomorrowland has turned into one of the biggest festivals in the world, they are still spreading messages of love, tolerance, responsibility for tomorrow and respect – encouraging us to live our lives to the fullest without having to compromise everything.
Live today. Love Tomorrow. Unite Forever.
